Your Line-Up for a Spooktacular September!

Your Line-Up for a Spooktacular September!

When I was growing up, I always looked forward to this time of year.  There's just a different kind of magic that surrounds you.  Burnt colored leaves, the chilly air against your face, and trick-or-treating at the richest houses in the neighborhood for the biggest candy bars--this is my season.  And not to mention--the Pumpkin Spice Latte makes its epic return.  I'm so basic and I don't even care.

September is the kick-off for the season we have all been waiting for!  You're probably wondering what to do this month since it's not exactly October but its definitely close enough!  I've decided to put together a list of events that are happening this month that you can participate in!

The SugarMynt Gallery

"Welcome to Haddonfield 4"

September 8th

The SugarMynt Gallery is located in South Pasadena right behind the filming location of the 1978 film Halloween.  This Halloween exhibition is celebrating its' 4th year as 'Welcome to Haddonfield 4.'  Sugarmynt will be be holding an opening reception on September 8th from 7pm-10pm.  If you purchase VIP admission you're granted access from 6:15-7pm.

Tickets are on sale now!  Be sure to grab yours!

If you can't attend on opening night, the exhibit will be running until October 31st.

Buy your tickets here.

Revenge of Slashback Video        September 8th

The sequel to last fall's hit horror/VHS immersive art show and exhibit will be returning to Mystic Museum in Burbank on September 8th!

Remember the good ol' days of VHS tapes and the dusty horror section of your video rental shop?  This exhibit will take you back in time to the VHS days of horror!  Live and breathe nostalgia as this art exhibition immerses you in 80's and 90's posters, VHS tapes, promos, laserdiscs and video games!

All of this is brought to you by The Mystic Museum & Ciara and Ryan Turek.

Admission is $10 at the door.

Get in the mood and listen to SlashBack Video: 90's Teen Screams on Spotify.  This playlist is packed with some classic jams from the beloved decade.  Give it a follow if you have Spotify!

Be sure to follow them on Instagram for sneak peeks and more:

 Son of Monsterpalooza September 14th-16th

Its' that time of year again!  Son of Monsterpalooza returns to Burbank September 14th-16th at the Marriott Convention Center.  This convention is packed with horror memorabilia, insane special fx demonstrations, panels and amazing guests.  Their line-up of special guests are still being released as we get closer to the date, but so far these guests are on the list--Fairuza Balk, Kathy Najimy, Piper Laurie and more.  Buy your admission ahead of time--this event is known to sell out!  We will be attending this event.  Be sure to stop by and say hi!

You can purchase your tickets here.

Creep LA "AWAKE" --

Unique Environmental Theatre

"CREEP IS A FULLY IMMERSIVE, MULTI-SENSORY, WALKTHROUGH EXPERIENCE. GUESTS ARE GUIDED BY A CAST OF CHARACTERS INTO A REALM OF FRIGHTFUL SITUATIONS AND ONE-ON-ONE ENCOUNTERS, ALL DRIPPING WITH STYLE AND DREAD."

CREEP LA is NOT a Haunted House.  This a participatory experience in which groups of 25 are invited to creep through hidden areas while experiencing up close and personal interactions.  The show runs for 1 hour with no intermission.

AWAKE is not recommended for those who may have an issue with complete darkness, mature themes or being surrounded closely by strangers and performers.  And you will be touched.

"EVERYONE DREAMS. YOU HAVE TO. THEY SAY IF YOU DON’T DREAM, YOU DIE. OR IS IT - IF YOU DIE IN YOUR DREAMS, YOU DIE IN REAL LIFE? EVERYONE’S HAD A BAD DREAM THEY JUST CAN’T SHAKE - OR A DREAM THAT’S SO REAL IT FEELS LIKE YOU’RE AWAKE. WHAT HAPPENS IF YOUR NIGHTMARES KEEP REPEATING, NIGHT AFTER NIGHT? AND WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU’RE TOO AFRAID TO CLOSE YOUR EYES AT NIGHT… AFRAID OF WHAT’S INSIDE YOUR MIND?"

AWAKE will be running from September 27th- November 4th

 Haunted Hiking

Guided Paranormal Hikes in the Southern California's Creepiest Woods!

Jose and Alain take you through some of the creepiest woods in search of paranormal activity.  This dynamic duo provide you with research about the haunted location.  I attended their haunted hike of the Cobb Estates and was positively blown away by their knowledge of the paranormal and the location as a whole.  Also, if you participate in any of their tours, you are provided with ghost hunting gear!

Each hike is $25.00 and can be purchased here.

You can choose from the Cobb Estates, the Brand Family Cemetery, or Manson Family's Spahn Ranch.

What are you most excited for?

More importantly--which event will you be attending?

I'm very excited for this time of year and September is the kick-off for us spooky kids!  Stay tuned for a post dedicated to another line-up for October!  I got some events lined up that you won't want to miss out on.

xx

Stay Spooky,
